This past August, we were able to provide the opportunity to the youth of our community to participate in the Act-Up with 5.0 arts and theater program. Youth created and acted out thought provoking skits centered around issues of social justice. The program explores concepts of culture, current events and conflict resolution, through acting. This program allowed our youth to develop communication skills and taught them skills to help overcome anxiety and trauma. In addition, they learned about the importance of seeing all sides of contentious situations they may encounter in their lives and being an advocate for themselves as well as others.
