The ability to handle stress is an important skill for all of us to cultivate this year, particularly our youth. This summer, the We Belong Leadership Academy, in partnership with the Child Resiliency Program at MGH and professionals from the Benson Henry Institute, are holding twice weekly stress management groups for over 80 middle and high school aged inner-city youth.

ACT-UP with 5-0 get creative and are inspired by personal stories of resiliency and perseverance with GoFive and Wiso. A rich and colorful path is laid out before them.
G.R.O.W. (Girls Reflecting Our World) provides time to decompress, breath, and find balance. Zumba, yoga, poetry, dialogue and synergy with our seniors are empowering our girls and inspiring future leaders! Workshops on racial and gender inequality promote self-advocacy and influencing policy change.

For many inner-city youth in Boston, the Dream is still as intangible today as it was when MLK walked for social justice. There is more work to do to empower our youth and improve our communities.
