Officer Jamila Gales Achieves High Honors

Girls’ Leap will honor our beloved Officer Gales at their 25th Anniversary Empowerment Gala, held at the State Room on May 18th (Tickets still available at Empowerment Gala Tickets).  Officer Gales, Creator and Chief Engagement Officer of the Girl’s Reflecting Our World [G.R.O.W.] police/youth program, was designed to support teen inner city girls to develop social, emotional and life skills through dialogues, workshops and active learning experiences. GROW focuses on promoting transition, overcoming trauma and bullying, building self-esteem, and developing problem solving skills.  Last year the program added a self-defense workshop to the curriculum facilitated by Girl’s Leap.  This partnership has been integral in helping the GROW girls build self-confidence, set boundaries and resolve conflict.  Officer Gales is #BuildingTrust and #ChangingLives.  Thank you for all you do!

Keep on GROWing!
